Sarah Merriner is a 3rd degree black belt under Zé Radiola, an IBJJF Black Belt European Champion, and one of the most accomplished female Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners in the UK. Over the course of her competitive career, she has won dozens of national and international medals across gi and no-gi divisions, establishing herself as a respected figure on the UK and European grappling scene.

With over 15 years of coaching experience, Sarah is a founding member of ZR Team UK and has been central to the association’s growth. Her coaching is known for its clarity, structure, and attention to detail, with an emphasis on building solid fundamentals while encouraging students to develop their own style. She has coached athletes at every stage — from complete beginners to international-level competitors — and takes pride in creating a welcoming and motivating training environment where all students can thrive.

Alongside her academy work, Sarah regularly teaches seminars and workshops across the UK and abroad, where her ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and practically has made her a highly regarded instructor. Her dedication to both the art of Jiu-Jitsu and to the progress of her students continues to shape and strengthen the Reef BJJ community.
